News on Asuka’s Main Roster Debut, Flair Update, WWE in India

One of the more interesting topics in wrestling as of late has related to Asuka’s sudden departure from NXT. Asuka was stripped of the NXT Women’s Championship due to a collarbone injury, but she is going to be coming up to either Raw or Smackdown once she returns to the ring. PWInsider is now confirming reports of Asuka joining the Raw brand once she is ready to go. The belief is that she should be back in time for the TLC pay-per-view next month, and WWE is apparently working on a WWE Network Collection series of videos in order to hype up Asuka’s main roster debut.
Ric Flair made headlines everywhere when his former talent manager Melinda Morris Zanoni begged for fans to pray for Flair during a recent hospital stay. Flair was put into a medically induced coma and remained very ill in the hospital for several weeks. Just recently, he announced that he had left the hospital and was recovering well. Ric Flair has now posted numerous updates on his condition through Twitter, and he revealed that he is already working in front of a camera again. It appears as though Flair was being filmed for an interview today, and the fact that he is willing to appear on camera again should definitely be taken as a good sign.

WWE has announced that they are going to be holding two different Raw live events in India later on this year. The shows will be held in New Delhi on December 7th and December 8th at the Indira Ghandi Indoor Stadium. The arena holds around 16,000 people. WWE has been trying to break into the Indian market for years now, and some believe that putting the WWE Championship on Jinder Mahal may have been an attempt on the company’s part to help further establish a connection in the country. As mentioned earlier this week, the Mae Young Classic match between Dakota Kai and Indian-born Kavita Devi has more views on YouTube than any other match from the tournament. It seems as if WWE’s attempt to leave their mark in India have not diminished yet by any means.
