North American title match set for next week's WWE NXT

Before departing NXT for SmackDown, NXT North American Champion Isaiah “Swerve” Scott will have a title defense against Santos Escobar.

Scott will defend his North American Championship against Escobar on next Tuesday’s episode of NXT. It will be Scott’s first title defense since winning the North American Championship from Bronson Reed this June.

Hit Row (Scott, Top Dolla, Ashante “Thee” Adonis & B-Fab) were drafted to SmackDown during night one of the WWE Draft last Friday. The post-draft rosters don’t officially go into effect until Friday, October 22, which is the day after WWE’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia.

In NXT, Hit Row haveĀ been feuding with Legado del Fantasma (Escobar, Raul Mendoza, Joaquin Wilde & Elektra Lopez) during Scott’s time as North American Champion.

Escobar said on tonight’s NXT that Scott can run away to SmackDown or prove that he’s a man by defending the North American Championship against Escobar. Scott responded later in the show and accepted Escobar’s challenge. Scott said after he defeats Escobar, the only way Escobar will be able to see the North American title is on Friday nights.

Ridge Holland, who was also drafted to SmackDown, will be in action on next week’s NXT as he teams with Pete Dunne against Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner. Here’s the full list of what’s been announced for the episode.
